The plastic surgery unit focuses on reconstructive procedures for complex wounds resulting in the aftermath of trauma, excision of tumors of the skin and treatment of chronic ulcers using modern techniques. The unit works in cooperation with the Heart Institute to provide a unique treatment for contaminated pacemakers so that the pacemaker can be maintained and there is no need for pacemaker removal. The unit also performs breast reconstruction operations using various techniques, ophthalmoplasty (surgery aimed at restoring the eyelids) and many other various plastic surgeries.
